The NBA postponed Saturday's scheduled Houston Rockets home game against Indiana on Friday due to the severe winter storm that struck Texas. It was the third NBA game wiped out due to the storm that knocked out electricity and led to frozen and burst water pipes, leaving millions shivering and struggling to obtain food and water. Local government officials shut down the Rockets' home arena, wiping out a scheduled Friday home game against Dallas as well as Saturday's contest. The NBA also postponed a Dallas home game last Wednesday against Detroit. The National Hockey League's Dallas Stars had four home games postponed this week -- against Nashville last Monday and Tuesday and Thursday and Saturday against Tampa Bay in what would have been a rematch of last year's Stanley Cup Final won by the Florida squad. js/rcw
