Jordan's prosecutor has released 16 of those arrested earlier this month in an alleged plot to destabilise the kingdom, state media said. "Under the direction of the King of Jordan... 16 defendants arrested during the recent events have been freed," Al-Mamlaka television and Petra news agency said, quoting the state prosecutor. However, two prime suspects, Bassem Awadallah and Sharif Hassan bin Zaid, remain in detention. kt/hj/dwo/hkb
