In addition, Lead Stories reported the video is Russian disinformation. Fact Check: A new poll from Emerson College/The Hill shows 2024 Republican nominee and former President Donald Trump leads Harris 50% to 48%, according to Forbes. Alternatively, a poll from the New York Times/Siena College shows Trump at 49% and Harris at 45%, the outlet reported. The X video, viewed over 200,000 times as of writing, claims Arizona leaders are purportedly planning to rig the election in Harris’ favor. “BREAKING: The Foundation to Battle Injustice has obtained testimony from a former aide to Adrian Fontes, Arizona’s Secretary of State, who alleged that state leaders have plans to rig and manipulate the election in favor of Democratic candidate Kamala Harris,” the video’s caption begins. “The informant, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, claims that supporters of Donald Trump will be randomly removed from the voter rolls. He also alleges that during the counting of overseas ballots, votes will be tampered with to favor Democrats,” it continues. The almost three-minute video purports to show the informant sharing the alleged evidence he uncovered. The claim is false. Check Your Fact conducted a scan using the website “TrueMedia.org,” and its results indicate the video’s audio has been AI-generated. Results of the same scan show that the language used in the audio is “highly detailed and specific, which is often characteristic of fabricated or scripted content designed to provoke a reaction or spread misinformation.” (RELATED: Video Showing Pennsylvania Election Results Is From Test) Likewise, Check Your Fact found no credible news reports to support the claim. In fact, the opposite is true. On Nov. 3, Lead Stories debunked the claim. According to the outlet, the video is “fabricated disinformation from a Russian propaganda network.” Additionally, Fontes’ office does not appear to have issued a press release or a social media statement responding to the claim. Check Your Fact has contacted Fontes’ office for comment.
