Vishvas News investigated and found the viral claim to be fake. As per the creators of the game, the tragic story going viral about a kid is not true. The game was created to pay homage to diversity, street culture, and all the cultures that are visited during our World Tour. Claim A post shared on Facebook by a page named AXEL reads: You know the game called “Subway Surfer” right? there is a story behind that game, the creator made the game to honor his son who died while skating down the rails.” The post is liked by 515 users, has 148 shares. Investigation Vishvas News investigated and found a deleted tweet where a user made the claim regarding Subway Surfers game that it has been created by a person to honor his son who died while skating down the rails. Later, the same user apologized for his tweet by stating: “hi i just want to apologize for this tweet, i admit that i was wrong for not checking if it’s true. again, i’m very sorry. also, thank you for those who informed me that this was fake and this is a learning experience for me to be more careful next time”. We also found a tweet by the official handle of Subway Surfers: “We created Subway Surfers to pay homage to street culture and diversity. We feel that the game allows for creativity and fun in a safe and entertaining environment. Thanks for running with us!” Vishvas News contacted Subway Surfers team through email. As per the response received by Olivier, SYBO Player Support Team: “The story you’ve heard about a kid is not true. We created Subway Surfers to pay homage to diversity, street culture, and of course all the cultures we visit during our World Tour! We feel that the game allows for creativity and fun in a safe and entertaining environment.” The post is shared on Facebook by a page named AXEL. When we scanned the profile of the page we found that the page has 43,627 followers till date.
