  • In reality, the photo shared by the company on its Instagram page shows mobile boiler rooms for heating. A number of pro-Russian sources spread the news that Coca-Cola allegedly donated mobile morgues to Ukraine as humanitarian aid. The hospitals, as they claim, are so overcrowded that there is nowhere else to store the bodies of the military. The propagandists add that this photo was supposedly taken in the Sumy region. However, this news is completely made up. In reality, the photo shows mobile boiler rooms that provide uninterrupted heating. The Ukrainian Coca-Cola branch announced transferring them to the most vulnerable communities on its Instagram account by publishing pictures that the propagandists edited to create this fake. In cooperation with the Red Cross, Coca-Cola has transferred 60 mobile boilers with a capacity of about 600 MW to Ukraine: together with another 45 provided by the company last year, they will heat up to 600 thousand square meters of premises in medical and educational institutions, as well as residential buildings. «A special advantage is their mobility, which allows them to be quickly moved and installed where necessary. In general, starting from February 24, 2022, the Coca-Cola System of Companies, together with the Coca-Cola Foundation, has pledged to provide Ukrainians with charitable assistance amounting to more than 35 million US dollars,» the company’s representatives added. It is interesting that the fake news of the propagandists refers to the Sumy region. Recently, this region started to constantly be featured in Russian disinformation narratives, because it borders the Kursk region. For example, we recently refuted information about the detention of volunteers in the Sumy region who were allegedly transporting 100 kilograms of drugs for the military, as well as news that in the Sumy region the uniforms of deceased Ukrainian soldiers are being sold and civilians are being arrested for calling Russian numbers. With such fakes, Russia seeks to create a picture of an authoritarian regime in Ukraine and discredit the Kursk operation of the Ukrainian army.
