| - U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris said, "Today we celebrate the Olympics. Because Olympians are Olympic, & they are at the Olympics being Olympian, so it's more important now than ever to support their Olympianism."
Amid the start of the Paris Olympics in July 2024 and the presidential candidacy of U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris, a statement allegedly made by Harris receivedtraction on social media platforms:
Harris never said or wrote these words. The alleged quote belongs to a series of memes in which broad, largely meaningless statements of support are attributed to the current vice president and presumptive 2024 Democratic nominee for president. Snopes has debunked similarclaims in the past.
Speaking to Politifact, Harris campaign spokesperson Ammar Moussa, said the quote is "not real." It also does not appear on any of Harris' social media profiles.
Because the alleged quote is part of a series of memes and does not represent an actual statement from the vice president, we rate the claim as "Misattributed."
