| - A video of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) member Syed Moin Syed Mukhtar is being shared on social media platforms.
In the video, he says, "15 minutes are left, still. I am Akbaruddin Owaisi's salve. I am also the 15 minutes type. Now, whoever wants to understand anything from this can. I play a six on the last ball."
This statement refers to Akbaruddin Owaisi's 2012 speech, in which he made a similar comment about removing the police for "15 minutes" to determine which community was stronger.
The claim: BJP Telangana's official X account has shared the video and criticised "Owaisi and his supporters," for making this statement, noting that it was made to incite violence and disrupt communal harmony.
What we found: We divided the video into multiple keyframes and ran a Google reverse image search on some of them.
We found a post on X from 19 November 2024 which featured the same video as the viral clip.
We, then, came across a YouTube video on a channel called, "MCN URDU NEWS NANDED" from 18 November 2014.
Syed Moin can be heard saying the portions in the viral clip 41:25 minutes onwards.
Following this, we also came across a video byte of the AIMIM member on IANS's X page from 25 February.
Moin told the news agency that it had been long since the statement when he was the candidate from the Nanded seat during the Maharashtra state elections.
He added, "If I had made any derogatory comments against any community or religion, or hindu brothers, certainly, actions would have been taken against me immediately, and an FIR would have been filed." (sic.)
Conclusion: An old speech of Moin has gone viral on social media platforms as recent.
