  • Following the attack on Iran by the United States and Israel on February 28, and Iran’s retaliatory missile attacks on US bases in the Middle East in response, a video has been circulated on social media claiming to be a scene of Iran’s missile launch in the context of the ongoing Iran vs. Israel-US conflict. See the said video circulated on Facebook: here (Archive). Fact Check The Rumor Scanner team’s investigation reveals that the circulated video is not real. In reality, this fake video was created using artificial intelligence or AI technology. At the beginning of the investigation into this matter, reviewing the video brings several inconsistencies to notice. The elements of the video, such as the people present, the missiles, and the abnormal shapes of the cars, raise the suspicion that the video was created with AI technology. Additionally, there are visual flaws in the video which are common characteristics of AI videos, including the movement of the missiles, smoke density, and exaggerated and unrealistic depictions of the nature of explosions. Subsequently, verifying the discussed video with the help of multiple AI content detection platforms, it is known that the probability of it being created with AI is almost one hundred percent. Therefore, the video circulated with the claim of showing a scene of Iran’s missile launch was created using AI technology. Sources HIVE MODERATION - Rumor Scanner’s Analysis -
