  • FACT CHECK: No, Target Is Not Offering ‘Tuck-Friendly’ Bathing Suits For Children A video shared on Twitter claims Target is selling “tuck-friendly” bathing suits intended for children as a part of its 2023 Pride Month collection. What @Target is doing is far worse than anything Bud Light did. They are selling chest binders & “tuck-friendly” bathing suits for children. Target is calling our bluff. But just like any other company, they need our business. We did it with Bud Light. Now it’s Target’s turn. pic.twitter.com/C2O2mkgDxw — The Matt Walsh Show (@MattWalshShow) May 16, 2023 Verdict: False There is no evidence for this claim. The bathing suit in question can be seen on Target’s website and only comes in adult sizes. Fact Check: Target has faced backlash for its LGBTQ+ merchandise, including customers knocking down displays and threatening workers, according to AP News. Target will remove some of its pride-themed merchandise “that have been at the center of the most significant confrontational behavior,” The Washington Post reported. The Twitter video shows political commentator Matt Walsh claiming a bathing suit from Target labeled “tuck-friendly” comes in children’s sizes. He includes a TikTok video of someone identifying the bathing suit, saying it can be found in the store’s pride section. “What @Target is doing is far worse than anything Bud Light did,” the caption reads, most likely referring to the latter company’s partnership with transgender creator Dylan Mulvaney. “They are selling chest binders & ‘tuck-friendly’ bathing suits for children.” There is no evidence for the claim, however. The Target bathing suit in question has a tag that reads “tuck-friendly construction” and “extra crotch coverage,” according to Daily Mail. The collection, which is being advertised for the upcoming “Pride month” celebration, also includes items for children. However, the bathing suit is not for kids, and instead is listed on Target’s website as adult-sized with sizes ranging from XS to 4X.
