Fact Video shows a mob assaulting the Yuva Jatt Sabha President in Jammu. A video showing a mob assaulting a man wearing a yellow turban is being widely shared on social media platforms. Those who shared the video claim that it showed an attack on Punjab CM and Aam Aadmi Party leader Bhagwant Mann in public. Newschecker found the claim to be untrue. The video actually shows the crowd thrashing the President of the Yuva Jatt Sabha in Jammu during a rally. Multiple X and Facebook users shared the 42-second-long footage claiming to show “Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann thrashed by people.” Such posts can be seen here, here, here, here and here. Displaying the viral footage, it stated that the President of Yuva Jatt Sabha, Amandeep Singh Boparai was attacked during a rally of the organisation in Jammu. A report by JK Channel featured a video showing visuals similar to the viral footage, and stated that Yuva Jat Sabha President Amandeep Singh Boparai was assaulted in Gol Gujral area of Jammu. He said that during the Jatt Day rally on April 13, 2024, some individuals attacked him. Boparai along with other members of Yuva Jatt Sabha held a protest over the attack on their rally, and claimed that it was Pakistan’s conspiracy. Boparai also discussed the incident in an interview with Jammu Samvad. Newschecker reached out to the admin of Jammu Samvad who confirmed that the video shows an attack on Yuva Jatt Sabha President Amandeep Singh Boparai in Jammu’s Gol Gujral.
