New Delhi (Vishvas News). A photo of actress Rashmika Mandanna lying on a hospital bed has gone viral on social media, with claims that she was admitted due to a sudden illness and her condition is critical.
Vishvas News investigated and found this claim to be false. The image has been edited. The original photo features English television and radio presenter Nicky Chapman, not Rashmika Mandanna.
What Is In The Viral Post?
Facebook user ‘Riya Sharma‘ shared the viral post on February 6, 2025, with the caption, “Shocking Health Emergency: Rashmika Mandanna’s Condition Critical After Sudden Illness! ” Apart from this, the post also features Allu Arjun, Mahesh Babu, and Vijay Deverakonda.

Investigation
To verify the authenticity of the viral claim, we conducted a Google search using relevant keywords. On January 11, 2025 Rashmika Mandanna shared pictures of her injured leg, explaining that she had hurt herself in the gym and was expecting a speedy recovery in the coming weeks or months. However, since then, she has posted several recent pictures in which she appears perfectly fine.
Next, we did a reverse image search of the viral picture and found the original image on the Facebook page of English television and radio presenter Nicky Chapman, shared on January 9, 2025. The face in the photo was not of Rashmika Mandana’s, but Nicky Chapman’s, where she wrote: “An emotional but inspiring day filming with @bbcmorninglive discussing a very personal topic – craniotomy recovery after a brain tumour diagnosis & surgery. My tumour was successfully removed 5 years ago……….”.
The difference between the original and edited photo can be seen in the collage below.
Later, we also searched the pictures of Allu Arjun, Mahesh Babu, and Vijay Deverakonda featured in the viral post through Google Lens. We found that these pictures were taken during the funeral of Telugu veteran actor-filmmaker Krishna, Mahesh Babu’s father.
For further confirmation, we contacted Smita Srivastava, a senior journalist of Dainik Jagran who covers entertainment in Mumbai, who confirmed this claim was false.
Finally, we scanned the account of user Riya Sharma who shared the false claim and found that the user has around 20 lakh followers.
Conclusion: Vishvas News’ investigation revealed that the claim about Rashmika Mandanna’s photo is false. The viral photo has been edited and the original photo features English television and radio presenter Nicky Chapman.
