  • A social media post is being shared with a claim that the crowd is seen chanting “Modi, Modi” at President-elect Donald Trump’s victory speech. “Make America healthy again,” says Trump when the crowd begins to chant. The claim says, “Modi Modi chants during $Trump victory speech! Do you hear it too?” Modi Modi chants during $Trump victory speech! Do you hear it too?😂#DonaldTrump #NarendraModi #Trump #USAElection2024 #america #Pennsylvania #Usa #India #modi #USA2024 pic.twitter.com/ORN5zlLFw7 — 𝗥𝗜K 𓄀 (@Rittick24) November 6, 2024 A similar clip has been shared on Facebook as seen here: The post’s caption reads, “MODI MODI chants during Trump victory speech.” The post has been shared here and here. FACT-CHECK Digiteye India team checked for the original video and here it’s: One can hear clearly that the victory speech mentioned the name of former presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr., whose nickname is “Bobby” in the video released by Reuters on Nov. 6 after the election results gave him a clear lead in the poll. At the timestamp of 19:42, Trump takes out the name of Kennedy Jr. when the audience responded to trump’s speech with chants of “Bobby”. But, the 20-second clip being shared in the claim has deleted the contextual part. The clip is probably an altered or modified version of the real video where the crowd was cheering for ‘Bobby’ and the context of helath goes with it as reports suggest that he might land in a health portfolio in Trump’s administration. Taking out Kennedy Jr.’s name, Trump said:”These are fantastic people and we can add a few names like Robert F. Kennedy Jr… He came in and he’s going to help make America healthy again.” Trump also referred to Kennedy by the nickname and said,”He wants to do some things, and we’re going to let him go to it… I just said, ‘But Bobby, leave the oil to me.'” Trump did not mention Modi in his victory speech. Hence, the claim is false. Claim: The crowd at Trump’s victory speech is heard chanting “Modi, Modi’. Conclusion: Misleading. The crowd at the victory speech was chanting “Bobby, Bobby” when Trump mentioned health and Kennedy Jr. whose nickname is ‘Bobby”. Rating: Misleading —
