The Image was created using AI and is being shared to spread misinformation. By: Pragya Shukla - Published: Feb 4, 2025 at 12:51 PM - New Delhi (Vishvas News). A picture of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along with cricketers Mahendra Singh Dhoni, and Sachin Tendulkar is going viral on social media. The image is being shared with the claim that it was taken during the parade at the Red Fort on January 26, 2025. Vishvas News investigated the viral claim and found it to be false. The viral picture has been created using Artificial Intelligence (AI) and is being shared to spread misinformation. What is going viral? Facebook user Anjali Chauhan shared the viral photo with the caption, “Photo of Narendra Modi, MS Dhoni, Sachin Tendulkar watching the 26th January parade from the Red Fort.” Investigation To verify the authenticity of the viral post, we conducted a Google search using the relevant keywords but found no credible media reports related to the claim. We also searched the picture using Google Reverse Image and found no related information. On carefully analysing the picture, we identified several inconsistencies. Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Sachin Tendulkar’s eyes appear distorted while the shape of Prime Minister Modi’s thumb is also unnatural. To further investigate, we analysed the photo using AI detection tools. Hive Moderation indicated a 98% probability of the photo being AI-generated. We also analysed the photo using DCopy, which also indicated a 92% probability of the photo being AI-generated. Additionally, we contacted AI expert Ansh Mehra, who works on AI projects. He confirmed that the picture was created with the help of AI tools and is not real. Every year January 26 is celebrated as Republic Day in India with grand festivities. The day begins with the President hoisting the flag at the Kartavya Path, followed by a parade. In contrast, On August 15, every year, ( Independence Day), the Prime Minister hoists the flag at the Red Fort. Finally, we scanned the account of the user who shared the misleading photo and found that the user has over 4000 followers. Conclusion: Vishvas News’ investigation revealed that the viral claim about the picture of PM Modi, Dhoni, and Sachin from the Republic Day event is false. The Image was created using AI and is being shared to spread misinformation.
