  • Fact Check: Viral photo of Ramayana-themed metro station in Ayodhya is AI-generated India Today found that the purported blueprint for the Ramayana-themed metro station in Ayodhya was created using the Bing Image Creator. Listen to Story India Today Fact Check This is an AI-generated photo and not the official blueprint of the Ayodhya metro station. The transformation of Ayodhya into a modern city alongside the construction of the grand Ram temple, which is set to open in January 2024, has been a topic of interest. Amid this, a photo resembling a Ramayana-themed metro station is making rounds on social media. Many users sharing it claimed that it’s a blueprint for an upcoming metro station in Ayodhya. India Today Fact Check found that the circulating photo is AI-generated and not an official blueprint of Ayodhya's metro station. Our Probe Earlier this year, several media reports surfaced regarding the Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation's plans to introduce metro services in Ayodhya, Varanasi, and Mathura. However, neither the official website of the UP Metro Rail Corporation nor their social media accounts have published a similar-looking blueprint of Ayodhya's metro station. Additionally, a senior official in Ayodhya confirmed to India Today that there is currently no proposal for a metro station in the city. Furthermore, a reverse image search of the viral photo led us to a post from the Twitter account "@mp_index". On October 27, the account shared the same picture, claiming it as an ideal vision of the Ayodhya railway station as per the redevelopment project. The post also included a real photo of the Ayodhya railway station for comparison. In response to the tweet, user "@MohitGr4" claimed responsibility for creating the AI-generated photo. The user had shared the same image and other similar ones on October 22, stating, "Multimodal transport hub for cities like Ayodhya and Varanasi." India Today reached out to Mohit, the account owner, who confirmed that he created all the images used in the post, including the viral one, using the Bing Image Creator. He further added that he wanted to showcase the grandeur of Indian culture and temple architecture. Mohit also shared with us similar images created by him using the Bing Image Creator. Reportedly, under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, Indian Railways is redeveloping 1,275 railway stations, including the Ayodhya railway station. The station's architectural design is inspired by the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple. Several photos of this station were shared by the Ministry of Railways in July. In conclusion, it's evident that the photo in question is AI-generated and does not represent the blueprint of the Ayodhya metro station.
