  • A video showing a woman selling some items by the roadside is being shared on social media. In the clip, a car is seen, driving up and parking on a part of her saree. As she becomes trapped, two policemen are seen assisting the woman by utilising a jack to elevate the vehicle and release the cloth. They subsequently detach the wheel and carry it away to penalise the vehicle's owner. Those sharing wrote, "Great job by the Indian police, big salute to them."(sic.) What we found: We divided the viral video into multiple keyframes and ran a Google reverse image search on some of them. We came across a video on Facebook user Sanjjanna Galrani's page from 12 April. The video had a disclaimer at the end of the video as well as in the caption. It read, "Thank you for watching! Please note that this page features scripted dramas, parodies, and awareness videos. These short films are created for entertainment and educational purposes only. All characters and situations depicted in the videos are fictional and intended to raise awareness, entertain, and educate." (sic.) We also went through the profile of this user and looked at the 'About' section. It was listed under the ‘Actor’ category. We also found the same video on a YouTube page called 3rd Eye. The channel's YouTube bio read, "Sometimes funny, sometimes serious, always shareable, with lots of Action, drama, comedy and informatic. New videos posted daily!" We have previously fact-checked social media users sharing Galrani's videos as real-life incidents. You can read some of the stories here and here. Conclusion: Social media users have falsely shared a scripted video by Galrani as real. (Not convinced of a post or information you came across online and want it verified?
