  • FACT CHECK: Does This Image Show Taylor Swift With A ‘Trump Won’ Flag? A post shared on Instagram allegedly shows musician Taylor Swift holding up a flag that says “TRUMP WON DEMOCRATS CHEATED!” View this post on Instagram Verdict: False The photo has been digitally altered. The original image, posted by Getty Images, does not show Swift holding any flag. Fact Check: Universal Music Group (UMG) has pulled its music off of TikTok following a dispute involving royalties, affecting the music of artists such as Swift, Ariana Grande and Rihanna, according to CNN. UMG accused TikTok of trying to give the record label a “bad deal” that didn’t give artists adequate compensation, while TikTok fired back by saying UMG put its “own greed above the interests of their artists and songwriters,” The Verge reported. An Instagram post claims to show an image of Swift holding up a flag expressing an anti-Trump sentiment. The photo appears to show Swift grinning while holding up a red, white and blue flag that reads “TRUMP WON DEMOCRATS CHEATED!” “Taylor Swift woke up?” the caption reads. (RELATED: No, Image Does Not Show Taylor Swift Wearing An Anti-Trump Shirt) The image is digitally fabricated, however. There are no credible news reports about Swift holding the flag. The original photo was posted to Instagram September 2023 and does not show Swift holding up any flag. “Taylor at the Chiefs game last night!” the caption reads. It was also posted to Getty Images. “Taylor Swift reacts during a game between the Chicago Bears and the Kansas City Chiefs at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium on September 24, 2023 in Kansas City, Missouri,” its description reads. View this post on Instagram Swift has shown disapproval for Trump in the past, as she criticized him for the way he handled the COVID-19 pandemic, endorsing President Joe Biden for the 2020 presidency instead, NBC News reported. Check Your Fact has reached out to UMG and will update this piece accordingly if one is received.
