  • On July 20, 2024, @mousetrapnews TikTok account published a video claiming that Disney World had banned farting inside its theme parks. "That's so stupid," one user commented under the video, while another stated, "If I have to fart I'm going to fart." The video originated form a MouseTrapNews.com article that read: Disney World Bans Farting Inside Their Parks Disney World bans farting inside their theme parks. Anyone who is caught farting inside a Disney theme park may be kicked out and potentially banned for life. Disney will be using thermal cameras installed throughout their parks to track if and when guests fart. If seen farting on one of these cameras, Disney World security will be sent out to find you and detain you. The first time caught doing this will result in a warning. However, if caught doing it again, you will likely be kicked out for the day. Then, a third offense will lead to a temporary ban and a fourth offense may lead to a lifetime ban from Disney World. This item was not a factual recounting of real-life events. The article originated with a website that describes its output as being satirical in nature, as follows: Mouse Trap News is the world's best satire and parody site. We write fake stories about Disney Parks stuff. From Disney Park announcements to Disney Hotel and resort news to made-up Disney partnerships, you can be assured that anything you read here is not true, real, or accurate, but it is fun. So technically our slogan The Moused Trusted Name in Disney News isn't true, but we thought it was creative and funny, so we are running with it. For background, here is why we sometimes write about satire/humor. In June 2024, we investigated a similar claim that Disney started charging guests to use bathrooms. A month later, we looked at rumors that Japanese Emperor Hirohito was buried with a Mickey Mouse wristwatch after his death in 1989.
