  • FACT CHECK: Did Yale Pull A Beyoncé Course From Its Curriculum? A post made on Threads claims that Yale University pulled a Beyoncé course from its curriculum due to backlash. View on Threads Verdict: False There is no evidence that shows Yale plans to cancel this course. The claim originated as satire. Fact Check: Social media users are claiming that Yale decided to pull a Beyoncé course from its curriculum due to backlash. One user wrote, “Yale Pulls Beyoncé Course from Curriculum After Extreme Backlash.” The claim is false. Yale is offering its students the chance to enroll in a new course titled “Beyoncé Makes History: Black Radical Tradition History, Culture, Theory & Politics through Music” for the 2025 spring semester. Students enrolled in the course can expect to analyze Beyoncé’s work from the past decade as an angle to study Black history, according to Yale News. There is no evidence to show Yale plans to cancel its Beyoncé course. The course is still listed in the undergraduate Yale course catalog. (RELATED: No, Beyoncé Is Not Facing $10 Billion Loss After Performing National Anthem For NFL) The claim appears to have originated as satire. Satirical website Esspots published a story titled “Yale Pulls Beyoncé Course from Curriculum After Extreme Backlash.” The satire reads, “Yale University has officially dropped its highly anticipated course, “Beyoncé Makes History: Black Radical Tradition History, Culture, Theory & Politics through Music,” following weeks of public backlash and criticism.” The story contains a disclaimer that reads, “NOTE: This is SATIRE, It’s Not True.” A disclaimer on the Esspots website reads, “Before you proceed to read our content, we would like to emphasize that nothing on this website is real. All of the articles, stories, and commentary found on Esspots.com are entirely fictitious and created for the purpose of entertainment only.” A representative from Esspots told Check Your Fact that the “the respective post originated as Satire but it was stolen and posted without the disclaimers. Pages/sites stealing are mostly being operated from Vietnam and Philippines.” Check Your Fact has reached out to Yale University for comment.
