Fact Check
Has Covid-19 literally disappeared?
One post was found claiming that World Health Organization (WHO) has issued a circular saying Coronavirus is becoming less potent which was found invalid after investigating.
No evidence confirms that Covid-19 has literally disappeared. The World Health Organization (WHO) has recently declared that the global health emergency of COVID-19 has ended. But the WHO has cautioned that while the pandemic has been on a downward trend, COVID-19 remains a persistent threat.
Health agencies worldwide, including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organisation (WHO), continue to report many confirmed cases every week. Even the data on MyGov.in shows that Covid-19 still exists in India.
Although the WHO has officially declared the global health emergency over. Its Director-General, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, emphasized that this does not signify the end of COVID-19 as a worldwide health threat. He stressed that the virus is still present, causing fatalities, and undergoing changes. The continued risk of new variants emerging, leading to surges in cases and deaths, remains a concern.
In an effort to fight against COVID-19, people have completed the primary series of COVID-19 vaccines. These vaccines significantly reduce the risk of severe illness, hospitalization, and death, as stated by the CDC. However, we often found inconsistent claims on COVID-19 vaccines causing more harm than good. THIP MEDIA has previously debunked FDA said COVID vaccines are unsafe and ineffective. However, it’s crucial to note that misinformation and conspiracy theories have been circulating about COVID-19, with some even questioning the very existence of the virus.
In a recent development related to this story, we continue to encounter inconsistent claims asserting that COVID-19 is not real. Our goal remains to debunk such claims, providing a more comprehensive understanding of the ongoing discussions surrounding the pandemic.
