  • FACT CHECK: Has The State Of NJ Suspended Trump’s Liquor License Following His Felony Conviction? A post shared on Threads claims the state of New Jersey has purportedly suspended 2024 presumptive Republican nominee and former President Donald Trump’s liquor license following his recent felony conviction. Post by @jonnajohnston3View on Threads Verdict: Misleading As of June 10, NJ.com reported Trump’s liquor licenses are under review by the state attorney general, citing an article from Forbes. Fact Check: Trump will hold a 2024 campaign rally in Philadelphia on June 22, but the event’s venue stated any speakers’ views do not reflect theirs, according to CBS News. The rally follows a recent community roundtable event in Detroit where Trump tried to appeal to Black voters, CNN reported. A Threads post claims Trump’s liquor license was suspended in New Jersey following his conviction. The post shared an image of Trump with multiple lines of text beneath it, including one inviting users to leave a “thumbs up” if they are happy about this alleged decision. “New Jersey just suspended Donald Trump’s liquor license because he is now a convicted felon,” the text reads. “Ha! Ha! They finally got him,” the post’s caption reads. The post does not provide a source to support its claim. The claim is false, however. On June 10, NJ.com reported Trump’s liquor licenses are under review by the state attorney general, citing an article from Forbes. Trump owns three golf courses in New Jersey, all of which have active liquor licenses, according to the outlet. The “three properties under review” are Bedminster, Pine Hill, and Colts Neck, according to NBC News. In a statement to the outlet, a spokesperson for the Trump Organization said the former Republican President “is not the holder of any liquor license in New Jersey.” “President Trump is not the holder of any liquor license in New Jersey, and he is not an officer or director of any entity that holds a liquor license in New Jersey — or anywhere in the United States for that matter,” the spokesperson said. “Any review of our liquor licenses will confirm this,” the same spokesperson added. Additionally, Trump does not appear to have commented on the claim via his official website or his TRUTH Social account. Furthermore, New Jersey Revised Statute Title 33:1-25 states “no license of any class shall be issued to any person under the age of 18 years or to any person who has been convicted of a crime involving moral turpitude.” (RELATED: President Biden Shared Video Of Trump Claiming Not To Care About Voters Is Missing Context) Check Your Fact has contacted the New Jersey State Attorney General’s Office and Trump’s office for comment and will update this piece accordingly if one is received from either source.
