Fact Check: Zegler, who is set to portray the namesake of the movie, has received backlash for her comments about the iconic animated version of Snow White, according to The Independent. The son of David Hand, the director of the 1937 film, claimed that the new live action versions of these films have no respect for the work his father and Walt Disney did, the outlet reported. The Twitter post claims that the film was cancelled. The post shared a screenshot of what looks to be a Google search engine result making the claim. The caption reads, “They actually cancelled the movie before it was even released! It’s crazy how it flopped before it began. Might as well just take down the trailers. If you are going to make Snow White, seriously consider recasting. Give her actress another movie. I’m glad to hear this.” The claim is false. There is no credible news report that suggests the movie has been shelved. The claim appears to stem from a satirical website, Mouse Trap news. The website is a parody site that shares a disclaimer in the “about” section of the website that reads, “Mouse Trap News is the world’s best satire site.
