| - Fact Check: Neither UP nor Rajasthan, this video of woman who fell into a pothole is from Delhi
A viral video of a woman falling into a pothole is neither from Uttar Pradesh nor Rajasthan.

This video is from Begumpur in Delhi, not Prayagraj, UP.
On a waterlogged street, pockmarked with potholes and dark mud, three men successfully pull out a woman from a crevice. As the woman examines her legs covered in dirty water, a man can be heard commenting about a hole in the street.
This video has been shared widely online with the claim that it’s from Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. However, there seems to be some contention about that.
Some shared the video claiming it’s from Bhilwara in Rajasthan. The archived versions of a similar post can be seen here.
So, where’s this video really from? AFWA found that it’s from New Delhi.
AFWA probe
We found a longer version of the same video shared on Twitter by Sumit Agarwal, the national secretary of the Confederation of All India Traders on August 27. He claimed that this video was from Begumpur in New Delhi. Begumpur is a village located in Rohini, in northwest Delhi.
In the longer version of the video, we noticed the signboard for a hospital. While the full name of the hospital was not visible, its name ends with “A’S”. The board also had “Delhi-86” written on it. Begumpur’s pin code is 110086.
We then searched for hospital names ending with “A’s” in Begumpur. This led us to Hira’s Multi Speciality Hospital in Barwala Road, Begum Vihar Extension, Begumpur, Delhi 86. Google street video of Hira’s hospital shot in May 2022 can be seen below.
A comparison between the viral video and the Google Street View of Barwala Road confirmed that the video is indeed from Begumpur, Delhi.
In the viral video, we noticed the signage for “Sahil Fitness Club”. However, this was not there in the Google Street View, which was shot in May this year. Instead, we noticed boards for “Indraprastha” clinic and “The Solid Fitness Club”. This made us wonder if the video was recent at all.
We reached out to Hira’s Hospital to figure out when this incident took place. Dr. Hira Kapoor, the director of the hospital confirmed to AFWA that the video was recent and indeed from the road outside his hospital. He also said that the Indraprastha Clinic seen on Google Street View shifted from that location about two months ago and the building was currently occupied by Sahil Fitness Club.
It is hence clear the viral video is from New Delhi, and not from either Uttar Pradesh or Rajasthan.
