New Delhi (Vishvas News). A video of Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is going viral on social media, claiming that he has openly supported joint Israeli-American military strikes against Iran. In the footage, Singh is purportedly heard stating that Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Israel before the conflict began to convey India’s full support and to caution Tehran that disturbing regional peace would lead to serious consequences.
Vishvas News investigated the claim and found that the viral video is a deepfake created using Artificial Intelligence (AI). Rajnath has made no such statement regarding the Israel-Iran conflict. The original footage is from an unrelated event held in Delhi in 2025, which has been digitally manipulated.
What is the viral post?
Facebook user ‘Sheikh Sadeque Ali’ (Archive) shared this video on March 2, 2026, with the caption: “Indian defence minister Rajnath Singh is expressing support for Israel’s attack against Iran. It has been very clear that India is in favour of killing Muslims.”
In the viral video, Rajnath can be heard saying in English: “The strike on Iran following Prime Minister Modi’s visit to Israel highlights India’s alignment with its strategic partner and underscores the calculated nature of the operation. He cautioned Tehran that continued hostile actions will have serious consequences for regional peace and stability, while reiterating India’s support for Israel’s security and right to defend itself.”
Investigation
To verify the claim, we conducted a keyword search but couldn’t find any credible media reports or government statements supporting the assertion that the Defence Minister spoke on the Israel-Iran strikes.
We then performed a reverse image search on keyframes from the video. This led us to the original, unedited footage on Rajnath’s official YouTube channel, uploaded on November 23, 2025. The video shows Singh addressing the ‘Sindhi Samaj Sammelan’ in Delhi, where he discussed Sindhi culture, the pain of Partition, and stated that ‘borders can change’. He didn’t mention Israel, Iran, or any Middle Eastern military operations during this speech.
Major news outlets, including The New Indian Express and Hindustan Times, reported on this specific event in November 2025, confirming the context was entirely cultural and civilisational.
Technical examination of the viral clip revealed significant lip-sync discrepancies, suggesting a strong possibility of AI-generated content.
To verify, we used several AI detector tools.
Hive Moderation tool described the video as 99% AI-generated.
AuRigin AI tool confirmed that the voice used in the video was AI-generated.
The Truth Scan’s audio analysis also revealed that Rajnath’s voice has been ‘cloned’.
Vishvas News also contacted AI and emerging technology expert Azahar Machve. After a thorough analysis of the video, he said, “There is a clear difference between the lip-sync and the words being spoken in the video. The voice does not have the natural fluctuations that occur in real speech. This is a classic example of a deepfake.”
The Facebook user ‘Sheikh Sadeque Ali’, who shared the fake claim, has about 11,000 followers.
Conclusion: The investigation by Vishvas News confirms that the viral video of Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is a deepfake. The audio supporting Israel and America against Iran is AI-generated and layered over old footage from a Sindhi community event.
