  • On 28 March 2016, the comedy sketch show Studio C published a video purportedly showing a collegiate volleyball match between men's teams from UNC and Yale in which one of the Yale players, Scott Sterling, repeatedly turned back opponents' spikes by deflecting the ball with his face: Best Volleyball Blocks Ever with Scott Sterling — Studio C. Scott Sterling is BACK defending his team in the Volleyball Championship. And as per usual, Sterling isn't going down without a BIG fight! The video contains several outlandish elements that clearly indicate it isn't real footage (among them that an injured volleyball player would not crowd surf on a stretcher). It also kicks off with the logo of Studio C, a sketch comedy show produced by BYUtv, and ends with the actors asking viewers to subscribe to the show's YouTube channel. Soon afterwards, the video was shortened into GIF form and circulated online, with many of the elements identifying the video as a comedy sketch (such as the comedic announcers and the opening logo) stripped away, which led some viewers to believe that this was actual footage of a college volleyball match and not something created for a comedy show. This isn't the first time that Studio C has showed anti-hero "Scott Sterling" using his face as his premiere sporting tool. Sterling has also been porteayed as phenomenally accident-prone soccer goalie:
