The clip features a picture of the former International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) leader from Bangladesh, Chinmoy Krishna Das, claiming that he is the individual in the video.
What we found: We divided the video into multiple screenshots and ran a Google reverse image search on some of them.
We came across a video on YouTube on Rajasthan Patrika's channel from 21 October. It carried similar screenshots as the viral video.
We also carried a relevant keyword search using "priest molesting girl car" which yielded the following results.
A Zee News article from 20 October featured blurred screenshots, resembling the viral video. The report noted that the individual in the saffron-clad clothes was , a religious leader from the located in .
The report noted that Balaknath sexually assaulted a student, said to be a devotee, in a car after spiking the prasad (devotional food offering).
Other reports by Navbharat Times and the Hindustan Times, also covered this case.
Reports by Lallantop and ABP stated that Sikar’s District Deputy Superintendent Scheduled Caste-Scheduled Tribe (SC-ST) Ajit Pal initiated an investigation after the female student submitted a complaint.
The police representative also noted that, apart from Baba Balaknath, two additional persons were identified in the case.
We also noticed that the individual in the viral video and Chinmoy Das look visibly different.
What happened to Das?: A former ISKCON leader and representative for the recently established Bangladeshi Hindu organisation "Sammilito Sanatan Jagaran Jote," Das was detained at Dhaka airport on 25 November on charges of sedition.
