Fact Check
The Rumor Scanner team’s investigation reveals that the video circulated claiming the destruction of the US aircraft carrier Gerald Ford in an Iranian attack is not real. In reality, a video created with the help of AI or artificial intelligence has been circulated with the discussed claim.
Investigating the discussed claim, although information is found about the Gerald Ford being positioned in the Red Sea amid the Iran-Israel war, no information was found in the media or any reliable source regarding the destruction of the ship in an Iranian attack.
Therefore, Rumor Scanner subsequently reviewed the video circulated with the discussed claim closely. Upon review, some AI-related inconsistencies are noticed in the video. Inconsistencies in the number of fighter jets appear across different frames in the video. Additionally, at one point, first two and then immediately three fighter jets are seen in the exact same place.
