This photo was digitally altered. PM Modi’s portrait was later added to the original photo.
In the run-up to the upcoming Gujarat assembly polls, the Aam Aadmi Party has been campaigning fiercely. Consequently, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in the last few months has been all over the western state that’s a prominent bastion of the Bharatiya Janata Party.
As part of his campaign, Kejriwal visited the residence of an autorickshaw driver on September 12. "During a conversation, I accepted the invitation of the auto driver to eat dinner at his home. I also met his family and the food tasted like home. I have invited his entire family to Delhi as his wife is from here," Kejriwal said after having dinner there.
Following this, a photo of the AAP chief interacting with the family has been shared widely. Many sharing it, however, pointed out that a portrait of Prime Minister Narendra Modi was prominently visible on the wall of the house.
People mocked the Delhi CM with tweets like, "Kejriwal made a fool out of himself. The place where he went to have food, that household turned out to be a supporter of Narendra Modi." The archived version of this post can be seen here.
AFWA's investigation, however, found that Modi’s portrait was digitally added to the original photo to give it this spin.

When we reverse-searched the viral photo on Google, it took us to a Navbharat Times (http://bitly.ws/uf2L) photo gallery that featured several shots from the dinner at autorickshaw driver Vikrambhai Dantani’s residence.
When we found the photo that featured the wall full of framed portraits, we noticed that the Modi portrait was nowhere to be seen. We also found that Kejriwal had tweeted photographs from the dinner as well.

Among them was the viral photo. Here, too, the portrait of Modi was missing. Instead, there was a framed photo of another person, presumably a family member. After comparing the viral photo with the one shared by Kejriwal, it became clear that the PM's portrait was later added to it digitally.
We also found another view of the same wall in a YouTube video shared by Aaj Tak Dantani spoke with the correspondent.

At the two minutes 37 seconds mark, we saw the same portrait on the wall, earlier seen in the photograph shared by Kejriwal.
Thus, we concluded that Kejriwal's host did not have Narendra Modi's portrait on his wall. The viral photo was digitally altered.
