दुनिया भर में अपने प्रकोप से आतंक मचाने वाले कोरोना वायरस के संक्रमण से बचने का अब तक कोई इलाज संभव नहीं हो पाया है लेकिन इसी बीच आंध्र प्रदेश के मुख्यमंत्री वाई. एस जगन रेड्डी ने एक दावा किया है कि बुखार में खाई जाने वाली दावा पैरासिटामोल कोरोना वायरस से संक्रमित लोगों का इलाज कर सकती है।

चीन के वुहान शहर से निकले कोरोना वायरस ने देखते-देखते दुनिया भर के ज्यादातर देशों को अपनी चपेट में ले लिया है। इस दौरान अब तक वायरस के संक्रमण से मरने वालों का आंकड़ा 10 हजार पार कर चुका है। वहीं वायरस से संक्रमित लोगो की संख्या 2 लाख से ज्यादा हो गयी है।
कोरोना ने भारत में भी कोई रियायत नहीं बरती है यहाँ भी संक्रमित लोगों की संख्या लगातार बढ़ रही है। जहां एक तरफ पूरा विश्व इसका इलाज ढूंढने में लगा है वही दूसरी तरफ भारत के राज नेता इसके इलाज पर तरह-तरह की टिप्पणियां करते नज़र आ रहें हैं किसी का कहना है योगा करने से कोरोना के संक्रमण से बचा जा सकता है तो कोई कहता है गौमूत्र पीने से कोरोना नहीं होगा। इसी बीच आंध्र प्रदेश के मुख्य मंत्री वाई एस जगन मोहन रेड्डी ने एक दावा किया है कि पैरासीटमोल कोरोना का इलाज कर सकती है।
वायरल दावे का सच जानने के लिए हमने गूगल पर अपनी पड़ताल आरम्भ की। इस दौरान पड़ताल के पहले चरण में हमने पैरासिटामोल के क्या-क्या प्रयोग हैं इस तथ्य की जानकारी प्राप्त करने के लिए WHO की वेबसाइट को खंगाला। इस दौरान वेबसाइट पर प्रकाशित एक लेख में पैरासिटामोल की जानकारी देते हुए यह बताया गया है कि दवा का इस्तेमाल हल्का सिर दर्द व बुखार से राहत पाने के लिए किया जाता है। अधिक जानकारी दिए गए लिंक में पढ़ी जा सकती है।

लेख में इस तथ्य की जानकारी दी गयी है कि अगर कोई व्यक्ति घर में ही कोरोना वायरस के लक्षणों से बचना चाहता है तो ढेरों लीटर पानी पियें और दर्दनाशक दवाएँ खाएं जैसे पेरासिटामोल। लेकिन लेख में इस दवा से वायरस के संक्रमण का इलाज होने की कोई जानकारी नहीं प्रकाशित हुई है।
इसके बाद गूगल पर बारीकी से खोजने पर The Gaurdian नामक वेबसाइट पर खबर से संबंधित प्रकाशित एक लेख प्राप्त हुआ जहां NSW के स्वास्थ विभाग के मुख्य अधिकारी Dr.Kerry chant ने इस तथ्य की जानकारी दी गयी है कि पैरासिटामोल से कोरोना वायरस का इलाज संभव नहीं है।

इसके बाद हमने विश्व स्वास्थ संगठन की वेबसाइट पर एक प्रश्न के उत्तर में यह पाया कि अभी तक कोरोना वायरस के संक्रमण के इलाज की कोई भी दवा या उपचार मौजूद नहीं है।

पड़ताल के दौरान कई टूल्स और कीवर्ड्स का उपयोग करते हुए तथ्यों का बारीकी से अध्ययन किया। इस दौरान पता चला कि पैरासिटामोल से कोरोना का कोई इलाज संभव नहीं है। इस दवा का इस्तेमाल केवल सामान्य फ्लू या दर्द के इलाज में किया जाता है।
