  • Is a photograph that shows a mammoth wall in front of the White House real? No, that's not true: It's been Photoshopped. The doctored image is based on a decade-old photograph. The claim appeared in a Facebook post (archived here) on November 3, 2020. It included the image of a giant gray wall and opened: Doesn't get any crazier than this!Look at this monstrosity the Stable Genius has built in the middle of our nation's capitol, in *our White House...the People's House. This is what the post looked like at the time of writing: (Source: Facebook screenshot taken on Wed Nov 4 14:46:19 2020 UTC) The post continued: In 2016, the POTUS promised his deranged racist fans that he would "build a Wall and have mexico pay for it". Four years later, but it's around himself in a nation he divided everyday with his hateful rhetoric. This is the final image of a tyrannical presidency---a wannabe dictator scrambling to turn the White House into a bunker before he's dragged out. The trouble is that the "final image" is not real. It's been altered. The fake photograph is based on this aerial image of the White House taken in 2009. Note that the cars and the people in this photograph are the same as in the Photoshopped image, but there is not a massive wall in the original photo. That was added.
