In March 2026, social media users alleged to have uncovered confirmation that Turning Point USA CEO Erika Kirk once worked for the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
Specifically, users claimed a phone recording found in Epstein's federal case files — which users called "leaked DOJ wiretap audio" — featured the widow of slain Turning Point USA co-founder Charlie Kirk scheduling teenage girls to engage in Epstein's sexualized massages. During the audio recording, the voice of the woman users identified as Erika Kirk told a younger-sounding girl, "The more you do, the more you get paid."
In short, while the phone call audio was authentic, Erika Kirk was not one of the voices.
A Palm Beach Police Department probable cause affidavit (archived) from 2005, included in the Epstein files, identified the voice as that of Haley Robson, not Kirk. The audio was not improperly "leaked," nor was the U.S. Justice Department directly involved in the recording. The recording wasn't technically a wiretap, either, seeing as police recorded the call while sitting with and directing the young victim — not by tapping Epstein associates' phones.
Much of the spreading of the rumor stemmed from X user Project Constitution (@ProjectConstitu) sharing the audio in a March 13 post (archived). That post, receiving tens of millions of views, featured a caption beginning, "THE SMOKING GUN: Leaked DOJ Wiretap Audio Captures Erika Kirk Scheduling Underage Girls for Epstein." The user continued, "I have been sent a bombshell audio file, and I have verified its authenticity," and further alleged that "the voice is undeniably Erika Kirk's. There is no mistaking it." The user later posted a correction and apology (archived).
Other users shared the audio and rumor on Bluesky (archived), Facebook (archived), Instagram (archived), Threads (archived), TikTok (archived), X (archived) and YouTube (archived).
Snopes emailed Turning Point USA to ask if the organization wished to comment on the false rumor about Erika Kirk. We also messaged the X user Project Constitution and attempted to contact Robson for comment, and will update this article if we receive further information.
The context of the phone recording
The Justice Department's Epstein files library hosts the recording in an audio file named "EFTA00276490.m4a."
The Palm Beach Police Department's probable cause affidavit documented a sexual battery investigation involving Epstein, Robson and Epstein's assistant Sarah Kellen. The affidavit identified the younger-sounding girl on the phone call as a 14-year-old white female, referenced only as "SG":
From March 15, 2005, through February 2006, the Palm Beach Police Department conducted a sexual battery investigation involving Jeffrey Epstein, Sarah Kellen and Haley Robson. Sworn taped statements were taken from five victims and seventeen witnesses concerning massages and unlawful sexual activity that took place at the residence of Jeffrey Epstein, 358 El Brillo Way, Palm Beach. Several of the victims were recruited by and brought to the residence by Haley Robson to perform massages for Epstein, for which Robson received monetary compensation. During the visit they would be introduced to Sarah Kellen, Epstein's assistant, who in turn would record their telephone numbers and name. The victims would be brought to Epstein's bedroom to provide the massage. Epstein would enter the room and order the victims to remove their clothing to provide the massage. As the victims complied and provided the massages, Epstein would rub his fingers on their vaginas. […] On three separate occasions, Epstein had intercourse and inserted his penis/fingers in the victims vaginas. At the conclusion of the massages the victims were paid sums of money ranging from $200 - $ 1,000. The facts, as reported, are as follows:
On 03/15/2005, A fourteen year old white female, hereinafter referred to as "SG," dob [redacted] and her family reported unlawful sexual activity which occurred at a residence within the Town of Palm Beach. […] "Jeff" was later identified as Jeffrey Epstein through a photo line up.
The third page of this archived version of the affidavit featured the following details about the in-question recording, including mentioning the line, "the more you do, the more you get paid" (emphasis ours):
During the course of the investigation, parental consent was granted for SG to assist with the investigation. At our direction SG conducted controlled taped phone calls to Robson's cellular telephone. […] SG spoke with Robson in an attempt to arrange another meeting with Epstein. SG asked Robson, what did she need to do to make more money. Robson stated, "the more you do, the more you get paid." Robson had subsequently called back SG and left a voice mail message for her indicating that she had set up an appointment for SG to go to Epstein's house at 11:00 am on April 5, 2005. This message was recorded from SG's voice mail.
Based on the above, trash pulls were established at Epstein's residence with Supervisor Tony Higgins of the Sanitation Bureau of the Town of Palm Beach. The trash pull from April 5, 2005 revealed a telephone message for Epstein which stated Haley and SG's name at 11:00 am. This was the time frame Robson had informed SG to be ready to go work at Epstein's house.
In 2008, several years after police in Florida began investigating, Epstein pleaded guilty to state charges of soliciting prostitution and soliciting prostitution with a minor and was sentenced to 18 months in jail.
More about Haley Robson
The affidavit included many more details of the police investigation, including that Epstein first victimized Robson while she was a high school student in Florida. Robson has since advocated for victims and for the unsealing of documents related to Epstein's crimes.
In 2021, CBS News reported that while Robson said she never met convicted sex trafficker and Epstein associate Ghislaine Maxwell, people compared Robson to her:
Robson remembers she was showering when the reality of everything she experienced hit her.
"I was sitting in the shower just scrubbing my skin. Scrubbing it. Because I just felt so dirty," she said.
But some stains don't wash away and she now doesn't trust people and is extra protective of her daughter — wanting to protect her better than she protected her friends.
"The guilt will never go away. There's not a day that goes by that I don't think about the other girls," said Robson.
