Vishvas News investigated and found the viral clip to be fake. The original video clearly shows PM Modi waving to people on the other side of the ground. The three-year-old video has been tampered with to spread misinformation.

New Delhi (Vishvas News). A clip of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going viral on social media. In the video, PM Modi is seen waving his hand, allegedly towards an empty ground. The viral claim suggests that PM Modi is waving his hand towards an audience-free space.
Vishvas News investigated the viral clip and found that it had been tampered with to remove the crowd. Whereas, the crowd can be seen in the original video. The investigation revealed that this video, related to West Bengal, was edited. Investigation proved the viral post to be fake.
What is going viral?
Instagram handle ‘jagdishdhakadpatel’ (Archive) posted a video clip on December 5, 2024. In this clip, PM Modi is shown waving his hand towards an empty field.
Several users are sharing this video with similar claims. The archived version of the post can be seen here.
Investigation
Vishvas News scanned the viral clip to gather more information about it. In this clip, PM Modi has been mocked by adding a film song. Vishvas News extracted several key frames of the clip and searched them using Google Lens. Apart from BJP’s ex-handle, we also found the video on many YouTube channels. The video was originally posted on April 1, 2021, by BJP’s X handle, stating that it was from Jaynagar in Bengal. The original video can be seen below:
During the investigation, we found a live video on BJP’s official YouTube channel dated April 1, 2021. In this video, PM Modi can be seen addressing a rally in Jayanagar, Bengal, wearing the same clothes and dupatta as in the viral clip, with a huge crowd. This confirms that the video of PM Modi’s rally held three years ago has been tampered with and is being circulated with false claims.
Vishvas News had previously investigated this clip and contacted JK Vajpayee, the West Bengal state head of Dainik Jagran. He confirmed that the viral clip was edited and the rally had a huge crowd.
At the end of the investigation, we reviewed the Instagram handle named ‘jagdishdhakadpatel’ and found that it has over two thousand followers.
Conclusion: Vishvas News investigated and found the viral clip to be fake. The original video clearly shows PM Modi waving to people on the other side of the ground. The three-year-old video has been tampered with to spread misinformation.
