  • In early September 2024, a collage of two photographs circulated on X (formerly Twitter), allegedly showing singer and actress Jennifer Lopez without makeup. One post, which gained over 844,000 views as of this writing, was captioned, "What's the name of that stuff celebrities in Hollywood allegedly take that's allegedly in current short supply again please?" Another X user responded: "The word you're looking for is adrenochrome" (a reference to a far-right conspiracy theory claiming Democrats and "Hollywood elites" literally drink the blood of children to stay youthful). (X user @BGatesIsaPyscho) The images also made their way to TikTok, where one user captioned the collage, "Jennifer Lopez (JLo) at 54 without makeup," further commenting, "JLo looks very different." (TikTok user @raulaalvarez) A similar TikTok post shared in late 2023, reached over 3.1 million views. The same images were also shared on Facebook in July 2024. In short, because the images in question were digitally edited to add wrinkles and other aging effects to Jennifer Lopez's face, we have rated this claim as "Fake." TinEye reverse image-search results indicated the photographs were manipulated to artificially age Lopez's face (see image below): (TinEye) The original, unaltered photos were first shared in October 2019, and they do not depict Lopez as shown in the circulated collage. We have recently investigated another Lopez-related rumor claiming that she was a backup dancer for pop star Janet Jackson in the early 1990s.
