  • FACT CHECK: Did Anheuser-Busch Fire Its Entire Marketing Department? An image shared on Twitter claims Anheuser-Busch fired its entire marketing department. No truer statement. “Go woke go broke” pic.twitter.com/UlgWcVDhwc — SparksN123 (@SparksN123) April 6, 2023 Verdict: False There is no evidence this occurred. The origin of the claim is a satire website. Fact Check: Anheuser-Busch garnered backlash from conservatives and others for partnering with transgender activist Dylan Mulvaney for Budweiser and Bud Light promotions, according to MarketWatch. A spokesperson for Anheuser-Busch told NBC News that the brand “works with hundreds of influencers across our brands as one of many ways to authentically connect with audiences across various demographics.” The Twitter image claims to show an article reporting how the entire marketing department was fired. The headline allegedly reads, “Anheuser-Busch Fired Its Entire Marketing Department Over ‘Biggest Mistake In Budweiser History.” (RELATED: Does Will Smith’s Name Appear On Jeffery Epstein’s Flight Log?) There is, however, no evidence for this claim. If Anheuser-Busch had fired its entire marketing department, media outlets would have covered it, yet none have. Anheuser-Busch has not released any statements confirming that the company has released its entire marketing department. The origin of the claim appears to be an article from the Dunning-Kruger Times. The Dunning-Kruger Times is part of America’s Last Line of Defense, a “network of parody, satire, and tomfoolery,” according to its about page. Social media users often take articles from satirical websites and present them as real. Check Your Fact recently addressed a satirical article that claimed Minnesota Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar introduced a bill to ban the sale of bacon nationwide.
