  • FACT CHECK: Does This Photo Show An American Flag Missing Stars At A Trump Rally? A post shared on Facebook claims former President Donald Trump displayed an American flag without stars during a recent campaign rally. Verdict: False A reverse image search generates the original photo from Getty Images. Trump did not display an American flag without stars during his rally. Fact Check: Agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) executed a search warrant on the former president’s Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida Aug. 8, the New York Times reported. Judge Raymond Dearie, a special master appointed to the case at the request of Trump, ordered the former president to support allegations that the FBI planted evidence during the search, according to CNN. The Facebook post claims Trump displayed an American flag without stars during a recent campaign rally. The post includes two photos which purport an American flag without stars is a symbol of surrender and that it was to send a message to the “Deep State.” “So, about that flag at the Trump rally… the one WITHOUT STARS,” the post’s caption reads. (RELATED: Does This Image Show Someone Selling Nazi Paraphernalia Outside A 2022 Trump Rally?) The photo does not show a flag without stars. A reverse image search generates the original photo from Getty Images, stating the photo is from Trump’s Sept. 17 rally in Youngstown, Ohio at the Covelli Centre. The stars can be seen, but in a silver-type of fabric instead of the usual white color. In addition, a photo of the flag displayed at the rally appeared in an article from The Washington Post highlighting Republican Ohio Senate candidate, J.D. Vance. The photo also features the stars, albeit a little more clearly. Trump campaigned in support of Vance at the rally, the outlet reported. There are no credible news reports to support the claim. Likewise, there is no evidence of the claim on Trump’s TRUTH Social profile. Check Your Fact has contacted a Trump spokesperson for comment and will update this piece accordingly if one is received.
