  • Fact Check: Image claiming new bus route 420 launched in Bengaluru is MORPHED Image claiming new bus route 420 launched in Bengaluru is MORPHED Claim : A bus with route number -420 from Vidhan Soudha to Parappana Agrahara has been started by the Karnataka Government in Bengaluru.Fact : The image is morphed. There is no bus route -420 operating in Bengaluru. An image of a bus with bus route number 420 is in circulation with the claim that it is a new bus route in Bengaluru started by the Karnataka Government. The bus route starts from Vidhan Soudha and ends at Parappana Agrahara. The claim goes as “For the first time, a bus route in Bangalore is thoroughly planned from Source to Destination. Route No. 420 From Vidhana Soudha ... To ...Parappana Agrahara (Central Jail)” Vidhan Soudha is the Legislative assembly in Bengaluru and Parappana Agrahara is the place hosting the central jail in Bengaluru and is the largest prison in the state of Karnataka. The post satirically claims that bus route ’420’ has been aptly started by the Karnataka Government, so it will be easy for the politicians from Vidhan Soudha to go to the Parappana Agrahara jail when they are arrested. Click here for the archive of the post Fact Check: The claim is False. The Karnataka Government did not start a Bus with route number 420 from Vidhan Soudha to Parappana Agrahara. There is no such bus route number operating in Bengaluru, Karnataka. The image is a morphed one. When we searched for the bus routes of Bengaluru, there was no bus route number 420 operating in the city. We checked for the bus routes operating from Vidhan Soudha to Parappana Agrahara jail, we found a few bus routes operating from Vidhana Soudha to Parappana Agrahara. The bus route 420 is not found here. When we performed a Google reverse image search, the image was shared by a blog named Rising Citizen, published in August 2009. The blog states that BMTC is revamping. We also found that the same image was shared on the social media account of the BMTC Volvo bus. The image was published on September 28, 2022. The bus route number is 365, not 420 while the route is labelled as ‘National Park’ in Kannada. Therefore, the viral image is a morphed one where the bus route number is changed to make a satirical comment. The claim is False.
