The claim in Hindi says “सावन के पवित्र महीने में अपने @RahulGandhi लेग पीस खा रहा है Fact Check: The claim that the video shows Rahul Gandhi eating non-veg in the month of Sawan is False. The video is an old one and was published on April 22, 2023. When we searched the key frames extracted from the video, along with the keywords “Rahul Gandhi eating”, we found a video published on the official verified YouTube channel of Rahul Gandhi on April 22, 2023. The video title is “Dilli mein Chole Bature aur Mohabbat ka Sharbat I Rahul Gandhi I Interaction with Kunal Vijayakar” In this video, we can see Rahul Gandhi tasting various types of food with the host Kunal Vijayakar. The viral video has been taken from 12.43 minutes to 13.29 minutes of the original video published on YouTube. The same video was also published by a YouTube channel named Khaane mein kya hai, with the title “Dilli ke Chole bhature, kabab aur Chatpati chat with Rahul Gandhi I Khaane mein kaun hai?" The description of the video states Exclusive Interview with Rahul Gandhi | Kunal Vijayakar. Eating on the streets has always been an amazing experience but this time, I had my mind blown. Yes, we had the joy and honour of having Rahul Gandhi with us, and the way the man eats can give any food lover a run for their money. And since we are in Delhi, we ate everything that one should eat -- Gol Gappa, Chole Bhature, Tandoori Chicken, Kebabs, and Mohabbat Ka Sharbat. We also found an article published in Times of India in April 2023 which states that after being stripped of the Lok Sabha membership over the defamation case, former Congress chief Rahul Gandhi was seen strolling the bylanes of Delhi. The Gandhi scion visited the Matia Mahal market in Old Delhi and also visited local shops and enjoyed chaats and several other delicacies. The photos and videos of Rahul Gandhi’s food walk were also shared by Hindustan Times in April 2023. While this video is from April 2023, the month of Sawan includes two months due to adhik maas this year. It is from July 4, 2023, to August 31, 2023. Therefore, the claim that the video shows Rahul Gandhi having non-vegetarian food in the Sawan is False. The video is an old one.
