  • A video showing a massive crowd has been widely shared on social media, with claims that it captures a Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) rally at the Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) grounds in Mumbai, amid the Assembly election campaign going on in Maharashtra. BKC वर महाविकास आघाडीच्या सभेला जमलेली गर्दी. 🔥🔥🔥🔥 pic.twitter.com/bSYImVH0rA — Ashish (@error040290) November 17, 2024 The aerial footage, featuring an enormous gathering and people climbing a tower-like structure, was shared with captions like, “Crowd throngs MVA rally at BKC in Mumbai | Overview of the meeting recorded by drone.” It has been shared here and here. FACT-CHECK Digiteye India took it up as such rallies are often misleading with unlikely huge crowds shown. We took some key frames and performed a Google Reverse Image Search to realise that the video clip was from the trailer launch event in Patna of an upcoming film “Pushpa 2: The Rule” of actor Allu Arjun. As first part of the film ‘Pushpa’ was popular, the launch of the trailer for the sequel attracted a huge gathering in Patna on November 17, 2024, to see Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna. The event was shared on X here showing the promotional event. बिहार वालों ने तो एकदम गर्दा उड़ा दिया, अल्लू अर्जुन और रश्मिका मंदाना को देखने के लिए गांधी मैदान हाउस फुल हो गया 😍❤️@alluarjun @iamRashmika #Pushpa2 pic.twitter.com/tFQb8n7G4E — छपरा जिला 🇮🇳 (@ChapraZila) November 17, 2024 The original video of the event has been uploaded by the event orgianiser YouWe Media here. In the original video, at 6:50 timestamp, the stage can be seen and at 9:15 timestamp, people are shown atop the tower structure. News reports also confirm the turnout for the event as huge. Hence, the claim that the huge gathering was for MVA rally in Bundra Kurla Complex is false. Claim: Video captures a Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) rally at the Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) grounds in Mumbai. Conclusion: Misrepresentation. The viral video does not show an MVA rally in Mumbai but originally the trailer launch event for upcoming film ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’ in Patna, Bihar.
