  • FACT CHECK: Did Greta Thunberg Say Electronic Vibrators Are Bad For The Planet? A video shared on Facebook allegedly shows climate activist Greta Thunberg denouncing electronic vibrators, saying they are bad for the planet. Verdict: False This video of Thunberg is digitally altered. It was originally posted by Thunberg in 2019 and does not show her making comments on vibrators. Fact Check: A man grabbed a microphone from Thunberg at a climate rally in Amsterdam after she allowed a Palestinian and Afghan woman on stage, according to Al Jazeera. The man expressed that he was there “for the climate” before being removed from the stage, Fox News reported. The Facebook video appears to show Thunberg giving a speech regarding electronic vibrators. In the video, Thunberg is behind a podium with two mics and flags behind her. “Hello, I’m so angry. The girls are using electronic vibrators with lots of batteries,” she allegedly says. “Why do they not help the planet by using their fist or wooden dildo? Please help the planet and stop using useless batteries. Finger yourself or ask your friends to do it.” The video is digitally altered, however. There are no credible news reports about Thunberg making these comments. The original video was also posted in 2019 to X, formerly Twitter, by Thunberg, which does not show her making the alleged statements. Thunberg’s caption includes an excerpt from the speech, “Well I am telling you there is hope. I have seen it. But it does not come from governments or corporations. It comes from the people.” The caption also indicates that she gave the speech at the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Madrid, Spain in 2019. “Well I am telling you there is hope. I have seen it. But it does not come from governments or corporations. It comes from the people.” Here’s a small part from my speech today at the #cop25 in Madrid. pic.twitter.com/Dg8pz969yS — Greta Thunberg (@GretaThunberg) December 11, 2019 Check Your Fact has reached out to a Thunberg spokesperson for comment and will update this piece accordingly if one is received.
