Claim : The image shows Indian Prime Minister Modi having lunch with the construction workers of the Ram Mandir in AyodhyaFact : The image is from 2021, it shows the Indian Prime Minister having lunch with construction workers of Kashi Vishwanath Dham in VaranasiThe construction of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya is expected to be completed by January 24, 2024. The temple is 380 feet long 250 feet wide and 161 feet high. Once complete, the temple complex will be the world’s third-largest Hindu shrine. The construction work began in August 2020 and as it is nearing completion, several old videos and images are in circulation connecting them to Ayodhya Ram Mandir, leading to spreading a lot of misinformation. A picture of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi having lunch with construction workers is being shared virally with the claim that the PM eating is lunch with the construction workers who are building Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. Fact Check: The claim is Misleading. The image shows PM Modi having lunch with construction workers who worked on the Kashi Viswanath Corridor project in 2021. When we performed a Google reverse image search, we found a few articles published in 2021 showing similar images. According to India Today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had lunch with the construction workers who worked on the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor Project. Prime Minister Modi, who is on a two-day visit to Varanasi, inaugurated the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor project on Monday. The project connects the Kashi Vishwanath temple with several ghats along River Ganga. According to news18.com, during the inauguration of the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday took a detour to have lunch with construction workers of the project in Varanasi. The Prime Minister sat amongst them for a photo opportunity while an excited lot gathered around him, but it was also a move to show them respect and recognition, a kind gesture that was seldom seen among influential leaders. ANI news X (Twitter) handle shared the images with the caption “Varanasi: PM Narendra Modi had lunch with the workers involved in construction work of Kashi Vishwanath Dham Corridor” Therefore, the viral image is not recent, it is from 2021 and shows the Indian PM having lunch with construction workers of the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor project. The claim is Misleading.
