A video of an explosion has been making the rounds on social media with many claiming it is from the mosque attack in Pakistan's Peshawar.

The viral video is old. In October 2021, there was an explosion at a factory in Lahore, Pakistan. This video shows that.
On January 30, a suspected suicide bomber in a mosque in Peshawar, Pakistan, killed at least 90 people and wounded 220 more. The Peshawar blast is one of the deadliest attacks Pakistan has witnessed in years.
Following this horrific incident, a video of an explosion has been widely shared on social media. People sharing this video claimed it showed the recent Peshawar the recent blast. Sharing this 15-second clip, a Twitter user wrote on Twitter, "It's horrible, look at the fire of today's blast,” alongside hashtags like “PeshawarBlast”, “Peshawar”, and “PeshawarUnderAttack". The archive versions of other similar tweets can be seen here and here.
AFWA’s investigation found that the viral video is old. In October 2021, a factory in Lahore’s Multan Road exploded. This video shows that.

A reverse search of keyframes from the viral clip led us to a video news report on YouTube. On October 21, 2021, Samaa TV’s bulletin for the day included a report on an explosion at a Lahore factory. Of the several videos accompanying the report, one was the viral clip.
We ran a keyword search on the internet and found a report about the same incident on News 18 published on October 21, 2021. It said the explosion caused the factory building to collapse, injuring many. According to a report in the Pakistani daily, Dawn, the powerful boiler blast at a beverage unit killed at least two people — one of them died instantly while the other was shifted to hospital with 50 per cent burns.
We also found the same video uploaded to the YouTube channel of Cobrapost on October 22, 2021, and it contained similar details.
In October 2021, this particular video went viral as serial blasts in Lahore, Pakistan. At the time, AFWA and others debunked this claim. Thus, it is very clear that the video has no link to the recent Peshawar mosque blast.
