  • A video is going viral on social media to claim that Ganesh aarti was played in the stadium after India’s victory against Pakistan in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. This match recently took place at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on 23 February. (Archives of similar claims can be seen here and here.) What's the truth?: The viral video carries two old and unrelated clips. The first video of Ganesh aarti was recorded at Mumbai's Wankhede Stadium during its 50th anniversary celebration on 19 January. The second video was recorded at Ahmedabad's Narendra Modi Stadium during the India vs. England third ODI and dates back to 12 February. How did we find out the truth?: We performed a reverse image search on some of the keyframes of the viral video and this led us to an Instagram post carrying the first video. This was shared by a user named Sanchit Desai and was posted on 19 January. The video showed performance of “Deva Shree Ganesha” song at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai during Wankhede Stadium’s golden jubilee celebrations on 19 January 2024. This predates the Champions Trophy match. We also checked Google maps to confirm the location and found similar architecture of the stadium. The same account also carried the second video which was posted on 13 February 2025 and stated that it was a clip from Ahmedabad's Narendra Modi Stadium during the India vs England third ODI match. This match was held on 12 February 2024 and it also predates the Champions trophy. The caption stated, "Maa Tujhe Salaam in Ahmedabad ❤️ Always a beautiful experience whenever this is played in any stadium in the country" (sic). The video also shows a large screen displaying the match score as “England 175/8 in 30.3 overs. Conclusion: Old and unrelated videos are going viral on social media to claim that Ganesh aarti was performed after India's victory against Pakistan in Dubai.
