We fact checked and found this claim to be False. The Claim During Nine Network’s Sunday Footy Show (SFS) on Apr. 10, a guest claimed that “heart issues … has gone through the roof since the boosters and COVID issues no doubt.” The conversation that speculated on Facebook had a caption that read, “Mainstream TV presenters point the finger at the jabb [sic] for players health issues on LIVE TV 10th April 2022, Channel 9 Melbourne, Sunday Footy Show.” Similar posts can be seen here, here, here, here and here. Fact Check Are covid vaccines causing heart problems? No. There is no substantial evidence that covid vaccines are causing heart problems. In fact, the dangers which COVID-19 hold for the heart are worse than the side effects from the vaccine. More than 1.17TCr doses have been given successfully throughout the world and any such event such as any heart complication is an extremely rare occurrence. The CDC website has also shown that the risk of heart complications is more after covid infection than covid vaccines. Conclusively, the available evidence suggests that “the benefits of covid vaccines outweigh the known and potential risks”. THIP Media has already debunked the claim that “Covid vaccines increase the risk of autoimmune myocarditis.” Did COVID-19 vaccine cause Ollie Wines’ heart issue? No. There is no evidence that his heart condition was caused due to Covid-19 vaccines. Wines clarified the speculations by stating to news media that “It’s nothing to do with that. It’s completely unrelated. It’s more a heart rhythm issue that is pretty common in elderly people and elite athletes.”
