In the post attributed to the actor, it is stated: “The question is not who lit the colonies, the question is, who gave the match in the hands of the lunatics? Think with a cool head?” Vishvas News investigated and found that the viral post in the name of Naseeruddin Shah is false. Earlier as well, a fake tweet in the name of Naseeruddin Shah had gone viral. Vishvas News fact-checked the post, it can be read here. Claim On April 30, a Facebook page named Great India posted a tweet falsely attributed to Naseeruddin Shah, writing: “The question is not who lit the colonies, the question is, who gave the match in the hands of the lunatics? Think with a cool head?“ The archived version of the Facebook post can be read here. Investigation Vishvas News started its investigation by going through the tweet viral in the name of Naseeruddin Shah. We searched for the handle @Naseeruddin_sah through which the tweet was made. We came to know that it is a parody account. This Twitter handle has been created using the picture of Naseeruddin Shah. However, it clearly states that it is a parody account. The bio of the Twitter handle stated that this account has nothing to do with Naseeruddin Shah. On this handle, we also found a tweet, that is going viral. You can see this tweet posted on April 23 here. Vishvas News contacted Smita Srivastava, lead correspondent of Dainik Jagran covering Bollywood in Mumbai. She told that this is a fake account. We scanned the profile of the Facebook page that shared the viral post. We found that the page is followed by 1463 people and created on November 2, 2018.
