US regulators said Tuesday they are temporarily suspending clean fuel requirements in three Eastern states and the nation's capital to ease a gasoline shortage caused by the hacking shutdown of a major pipeline. "In response to the recent ransomware attack on the Colonial Pipeline, US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Michael Regan today issued an emergency fuel waiver to help alleviate fuel shortages in states whose supply of reformulated gasoline has been impacted by the pipeline shutdown," according to a statement. hs/ec
