The 27-year-old lost his balance while in mid-air and travelling at more than 100 km/h (62.1 mph) in Planica. "Daniel was admitted in the ambulance unconscious. He had to be intubated and mechanically ventilated," doctor Tomislav Mirkovic said in a statement posted by FIS Ski Jumping on Twitter. "The preliminary tests are very promising. Now we will wait for 24 hours when the tests will be repeated." Tande won the world ski flying title in 2018 and was a team Olympic gold medallist with Norway in Pyeongchang later that year. "We are extremely grateful for the high professional first aid and medical care after the fall," said Norway team leader Clas Brede Brathen. "The fall has looked dramatic for us and we are now relieved after the first diagnosis that Daniel's injuries are not life threatening."
