| - There have been several attacks in Israel using vehicles to mow people down, such as Thursday's car-ramming that wounded 14, most of them soldiers. Here are some of the previous attacks. A Palestinian drives a speeding bus into dozens of people south of Tel Aviv on February 14, killing a civilian woman and seven soldiers. The attacker is captured after a high-speed chase. It comes amid a surge of violence since the election days earlier of hawk Ariel Sharon as prime minister. On July 2, a Palestinian rams a bulldozer into buses and cars in central Jerusalem, killing three Israelis and injuring more than 45 others. Police clamber onto the bulldozer and shoot the driver dead. Two other bulldozer attacks by Palestinians in Jerusalem, on July 22 and September 22, wound around 30 people. In the early hours of August 29, a young Palestinian rams a stolen taxi into a group of on-duty guards outside a Tel Aviv nightclub. He then attacks the guards and passersby with a knife. Seven people, including guards and club goers, are wounded. On August 4, an attacker rams an excavator into a bus in Jerusalem, turning it over before police shoot him dead. An Israeli is run over by the vehicle and killed. Five other people are wounded. On October 22, a Palestinian rams a car into pedestrians at a tram stop in Jerusalem, killing a three-month-old girl. A 22-year-old Ecuadorian woman dies days later from her injuries. Police shoot dead the attacker when he attempts to flee on foot. Around five other people are seriously hurt. On November 5, a Palestinian driver crashes his vehicle into policemen and then a crowd of pedestrians on the seam line between west and annexed east Jerusalem. He then attacks people with an iron bar, killing a border guard and injuring a dozen people before being shot dead by police. It comes as clashes break out at Jerusalem's Al-Aqsa mosque compound between Palestinians and Israeli police. On March 6, four Israeli policemen and a civilian are injured in a car-ramming and knife attack on the line separating west and east Jerusalem. The attacker is shot and seriously injured. On October 13, a man ploughs his car into pedestrians at a bus stop in east Jerusalem, killing one person. He then tries to stab passersby but is shot and arrested. The same day, three people are killed -- including one attacker, shot by security forces -- in a knife-and-gun attack on a bus in east Jerusalem. On December 14, around 15 people are injured in west Jerusalem when a Palestinian drives a car into people at a bus stop. Police shoot dead the attacker, who has an axe in the car. On January 8, a Palestinian drives a truck into soldiers on a history tour in west Jerusalem, killing four and injuring 17. The attacker, described by Israel as a supporter of the Islamic State (IS) jihadist group, is also killed. ang-fm-jmy/br/dwo
