Pinturault, who won Olympic bronze in the event at the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Games, was 0.26sec faster than Croatia's Filip Zubcic with Marco Odermatt of Switzerland third. Kilde, the in-form Norwegian who leads the overall World Cup standings after winning the Super-G and the downhill in Val Gardena on Friday and Saturday, was almost a second behind Pinturault. Another Norwegian, Henrik Kristoffersen, the reigning World Cup champion in the discipline, fared little better as he placed 12th, 0.81 back from the Frenchman. It was left to a third Norwegian, the US-born 20-year-old Atle Lie McGrath, to have a surprising first run and finish fourth behind Pinturault having at one point threatened to challenge for the lead.
