| - The Tennessee Titans and Minnesota Vikings halted all activities on Tuesday after eight people tested positive for Covid-19 following the two teams' game in Minneapolis last weekend, the NFL said. A joint statement from the NFL and NFL Players Association said three Titans players and five members of the team's staff had tested positive for coronavirus. "The Titans will suspend in-person club activities starting today," the statement said. "Likewise, the Vikings, who played the Titans on Sunday, will also suspend in-person club activities. "Both clubs are working closely with the NFL and the NFLPA, including our infectious disease experts, to evaluate close contacts, perform additional testing and monitor developments. "All decisions will be made with health and safety as our primary consideration." The Titans said the team had opted to work remotely out of an "abundance of caution." "Several tests have come back positive and are working through the process of confirming them," the team said. "We will have more information tomorrow." The Vikings also shuttered its facilities but emphasised the team so far had found no evidence of positive infections. "As of this morning, we have not received any positive results from Vikings testing following Sunday's game," the team said. The NFL season kicked off earlier this month with all teams following strict safety protocols to ward off the threat of coronavirus outbreaks. So far, the league's testing regime has been broadly successful, with zero positive cases in the most recent round of test results announced by the NFL last week. rcw/dmc
