North Macedonia's political parties agreed Tuesday to postpone a general election scheduled for April 12 to prevent further spread of the coronavirus, politicians said. "We shared our view that these are not (suitable) conditions for organising the elections," said former premier Zoran Zaev, head of the Social Democrats. He did not provide a new date. "We decided that postponing the early parliamentary elections was possible and had to be done," said Hristijan Mickoski, head of the right-wing VMRO-DPMNE, in a separate announcement. str-ssm/wai/pma
