  • JPMorgan Chase will pay $920 million to settle US civil and criminal charges over fake precious metals trades designed to manipulate the market, US agencies announced Tuesday. The scheme covered trades between 2008 and 2016 on tens of thousands of orders in the gold, silver, platinum and palladium futures contracts that were placed with an intent to be canceled in order to deceive other market participants, said a press release from the Department of Justice, one of three agencies involved in the case. jmb/st
